Description

Pull-apart cheesesteak sliders made with shaved ribeye, provolone, American cheese, sautéed peppers and onions, and a garlic butter glaze on Hawaiian sweet rolls. Ready in just 45 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

1 package (12-count) Hawaiian sweet slider buns

pounds shaved ribeye steak

1 large green bell pepper, sliced into thin strips

1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced

6 slices provolone cheese

4 slices white American cheese

3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder (divided: ½ tsp for meat, ½ tsp for butter glaze)

Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350 °F. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced bell pepper and onion with a pinch of salt. Cook 8 to 10 minutes until softened and lightly browned. Transfer to a bowl.

3. In the same skillet, cook the shaved ribeye with ½ teaspoon garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper for 3 to 4 minutes, breaking meat apart, until no pink remains.

4. Return the peppers and onions to the skillet. Toss to combine. Remove from heat.

5. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally as one block. Place the bottom half in the baking pan.

6. Layer American cheese slices across the bottom buns. Spoon the ribeye and vegetable filling evenly on top. Lay provolone slices over the filling. Place the top half of the rolls over everything.

7. Melt butter and stir in ½ teaspoon garlic powder. Brush generously over the roll tops.

8. Cover the pan tightly with foil. Bake 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake 10 to 15 minutes more until tops are golden and cheese is bubbly.

9. Rest 5 minutes before slicing with a serrated knife.

Notes

Place American cheese on the bottom buns first to create a moisture barrier.

Buy ribeye pre-shaved from the butcher counter for the best texture.

Do not skip the foil for the first 15 minutes or the tops will dry out.
