Description
This Bacon Wrapped Little Smokies Recipe combines juicy cocktail sausages, crispy bacon, and a caramelized brown sugar glaze for an easy, crowd-pleasing appetizer ready in about 45 minutes.
Ingredients
14 oz little smokies (cocktail sausages)
1 lb center-cut bacon, cut into thirds
3/4 to 1 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Toothpicks, soaked in water 10-15 minutes
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
2. Wrap each little smokie in a third-slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
3. Mix brown sugar and cayenne pepper in a shallow bowl.
4. Coat each wrapped smokie generously in the brown sugar mixture.
5. Arrange in a single layer on the rack, leaving space between pieces.
6. Bake 25-30 minutes, until bacon is crisp and glaze is caramelized.
7. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use thin or center-cut bacon for best crisping.
Can be assembled a day ahead and refrigerated before baking.
