Description

This Bacon Wrapped Little Smokies Recipe combines juicy cocktail sausages, crispy bacon, and a caramelized brown sugar glaze for an easy, crowd-pleasing appetizer ready in about 45 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

14 oz little smokies (cocktail sausages)

1 lb center-cut bacon, cut into thirds

3/4 to 1 cup brown sugar

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Toothpicks, soaked in water 10-15 minutes

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.

2. Wrap each little smokie in a third-slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.

3. Mix brown sugar and cayenne pepper in a shallow bowl.

4. Coat each wrapped smokie generously in the brown sugar mixture.

5. Arrange in a single layer on the rack, leaving space between pieces.

6. Bake 25-30 minutes, until bacon is crisp and glaze is caramelized.

7. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use thin or center-cut bacon for best crisping.

Can be assembled a day ahead and refrigerated before baking.

Freezes well both before and after baking.
