Description
These Sweet Chili Halloumi Wraps are crispy, saucy, and incredibly satisfying. Golden pan-seared halloumi is coated in sweet chili sauce, then wrapped with fresh veggies in a soft tortilla for an easy vegetarian lunch that’s ready in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
-
8 oz (225 g) halloumi cheese, sliced into strips
-
4 soft flour tortillas or wraps
-
3–4 tbsp sweet chili sauce
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
1 cup shredded lettuce
-
½ cup sliced cucumber
-
½ cup sliced red bell pepper
Optional additions:
-
Chili mayo or plain mayo
-
Green onions
-
Carrots (julienned)
Instructions
-
Remove the halloumi from its packaging and pat it very dry with paper towels. Slice into even strips.
-
Heat olive oil in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
-
Add halloumi in a single layer and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden and crispy.
-
Remove the pan from heat and gently toss the halloumi with sweet chili sauce until lightly coated.
-
Warm the tortillas briefly so they’re flexible.
-
Layer lettuce on each wrap, followed by sweet chili halloumi, cucumber, and bell pepper.
-
Add extra sauce if desired, fold tightly, and serve immediately.
Notes
-
Always add sweet chili sauce after cooking the halloumi to keep it crispy.
-
Don’t overcrowd the pan — cook in batches if needed.
-
For extra creaminess, mix sweet chili sauce with mayo or Greek yogurt.
-
Best enjoyed fresh while the halloumi is still warm and crisp.
