Ingredients
-
1 lb pizza dough (or wonton wrappers/crescent dough)
-
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
-
½ cup marinara or pizza sauce
-
½ cup mini pepperoni slices (or diced cooked sausage)
-
1 tablespoon olive oil or egg wash (for brushing)
-
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
-
Flour (for rolling out dough)
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
-
On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about ¼ inch thick. Cut into 3- to 4-inch squares or circles.
-
Spoon about ½ teaspoon of sauce, cheese, and toppings into the center of each square.
-
Fold over and seal the edges using a fork or by pinching. Poke a small hole in the top with a toothpick to release steam.
-
Place on a lined baking sheet or in the air fryer basket. Lightly brush with olive oil or egg wash.
-
Bake for 12–15 minutes or air fry for 7–10 minutes until golden and crispy.
-
Let cool slightly, then serve with dipping sauces.
Notes
-
Freeze uncooked crunchers for up to 3 months; cook from frozen, adding 2–3 minutes to baking/air frying time.
-
Try alternative fillings like mushrooms, spinach, BBQ chicken, or ricotta.
-
Use gluten-free dough or dairy-free cheese for dietary modifications.
