Description
This crispy blueberry grilled cheese is the perfect sweet-savory comfort sandwich. Golden, buttery bread surrounds melty cheese and a thin layer of blueberry jam, creating a cozy lunch that feels a little special but is incredibly easy to make.
Ingredients
-
2 slices sturdy bread (sourdough or brioche recommended)
-
2–3 slices brie cheese or white cheddar
-
1–2 teaspoons blueberry jam (or very thinly sliced fresh blueberries)
-
1 tablespoon butter or mayonnaise (for the bread)
Instructions
-
Spread butter or mayonnaise evenly on one side of each bread slice.
-
Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in a cold skillet.
-
Add one layer of cheese, followed by a thin layer of blueberry jam.
-
Top with the remaining cheese and the second slice of bread (buttered side up).
-
Cook over medium heat for 3–4 minutes, until the bottom is golden and crisp.
-
Flip carefully and cook another 3–4 minutes until the second side is golden and the cheese is fully melted.
-
Remove from the pan, rest for 1 minute, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
-
Brie creates a milder, creamier sandwich; white cheddar adds sharper contrast.
-
Use blueberry jam sparingly — too much can soften the bread.
-
Cooking low and slow is the key to crisp bread and melty cheese.
